Sanaa.. Conference rejects Al-Ahwal and removes Ibn Habtoor

The General Committee of the General People’s Assembly elected Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor as vice chairman of the General People’s Assembly, according to what was reported by Al-Mutamar.net, the party’s spokesperson.

The committee also approved, during its meeting held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, chaired by the President of the Conference, Sadiq Abu Ras, the removal of Ghazi Al-Ahwal, the former Secretary General of the Conference, detained in Sanaa since August 20, from the composition of the Conference.

The committee attributed the reason for the dismissal to what it called “violations committed by Al-Ahwal of the internal regulations of the conference, undermining the unity of the conference and national unity, and violating the provisions of the constitution and national constants.”

On December 3, the General Committee elected Yahya Rahi as Secretary General of the General People’s Assembly, succeeding Ghazi Al-Ahwal.
